Goal Achievement Skills Mobil Oil – Rocky Mountain Div. 2 Days Second step in Mobil’s supervisory training series. Covers performance appraisal, giving feedback and basic motivational theory.
Career Development Workshop Mobil Oil – Denver Office 1 day Employees match their strengths with career goals.  Emphasis is placed on employees taking charge of their own careers and taking action to improve their skills.
Compensation Workshop for Managers Mobil Oil – New Orleans Office ½ Day Part of an ongoing effort to educate managers about the “pay for performance” philosophy behind Mobil’s pay program. 
Basic Management Workshop (a.k.a. Leadership Development Program) NASA, British Petroleum, Quantum Chemicals, Rohm and Haas, Union Texas Petroleum 5 Days The most popular program offered by North American Training and Development.  Programs were customized for each client but typically included either half or full day sessions on – Communication Skills (including DiSC), Motivation, Leadership, Giving and Receiving Feedback, and Time Management.  Participants passed out questionnaires in advance of the program and then received the feedback during the week.  Emphasis placed on development and follow up on Action Plans.
Upward Appraisal Mobil Oil – Dallas Office and Houston Office ½ Day A spin off of the five-day program was to have employees do evaluations of their managers.   A consultant would process the feedback with the manager and then assist in developing an action plan.
Competency Based Interviewing Skills Mobil Oil – Dallas Office ½ Day This new approach to selection required managers to be trained in and to conduct competency-based interviews.  Practice sessions followed classroom lectures. 
HR Development Program Mobil Oil Indonesia and Mobil Oil Nigeria 3-4 Days Coached and worked one-on-one with members of Mobil’s international HR Staff.  Included skill building in the areas of compensation and benefits philosophy, career development and problem resolution.
Teambuilding British Petroleum – Houston  2 or 3 Days Generally designed for intact work groups to go through as a team.  Covered the natural progression of teams, helping and hindering behaviors, and communication.  Based on the Blanchard Team Building Program which I am certified to teach.
Strategic Planning Retreat Rohm and Haas – Houston, ARCO International 1 Day Conducted for several levels of client organizations.  Starts with a S.W.O. T. analysis and builds into a statement of Mission, Vision and Values.
The Effective ARCO Manager (T.E.A.M.) ARCO Dubai, ARCO China 4 Days Co-taught with a British Professor named Nigel Laurie.   Basic Management Workshop designed for a European audience - British videos, case studies and exercises.
MBA Recruiting Skills ARCO International –Plano 1 Day Basic Skills training for interviewers.  Reviewed the legal aspects of interviewing with special emphasis on how to avoid sexual harassment and ADA complaints.
Offsite Personnel Reviews ARCO International – Plano  1-2 Days Typically done every six months with the senior staff as a way of reviewing bench strength.  Usually included an evaluation of existing talent and a discussion of development needs of top performers.  Half-day sessions were used for follow up.
Developing Effective Presentations ARCO China  1 Day Covered the basics of giving effective presentations.  Worked a lot on pace, pitch and presence.  Also gave feedback on support materials, use of humor, etc.
Executive Development Program ARCO China  10 Days Two-part program designed to help Chinese Managers understand western business practices.  Part one: three-day workshop on Finance, HR, and Management done in China for 100 Chinese Managers.  Part two was a two-week program done in conjunction with Thunderbird Exec. Ed. in Phoenix, AZ.  Emphasis on, cultural awareness, financial analysis, leadership development, human resources, and group dynamics.
HR Development Program ARCO China  8 Days Similar to the Executive Development Program but for HR Managers.  Program emphasized the need for HR Managers to be business partners as they looked for new ways to add value in their organizations.
New Manager in Transition ARCO and other clients 2 Days One day spent interviewing new manager and the work team.  One day off-site to discuss communication style, work style, preferences, and personal philosophies. 
Developing Chinese Leaders TRW – Executive Program ½ Day Summary of efforts taken in China to develop leaders in a society where personal responsibility is often shunned.  Examples and strategies discussed.
Strategic HR Management Thunderbird Executive Masters in Management ½ Day Discussion of how to make your HR Function more strategic by aligning the group with the leadership of the organization.  Examples given of goals, objectives and action plans used to ensure progress.
Change Management – Who Moved My Cheese? The CMI Group, American Red Cross, Blockbuster New Media ½ Day Certified by Linkages to conduct this training on behalf of Spencer Johnson, M.D. author of Who Moved My Cheese?  I have conducted this training for over three hundred people in organizations of all sizes.  The main premise is that we should welcome change rather than fear it.  Those who embrace change and move on, do better than those who live and work in the past.
Extreme Leadership – Leadership Lessons from the World of Sports Public Workshops in Dallas Two Hours Lessons from Phil Jackson, Joe Torre, Joe Paterno, and the U.S. Women’s Olympic Soccer Team are used to show how the best coaches handle insubordination, anger, violence, and self-defeating attitudes. 
Mastering First Impressions – Setting the Tone for Success Career Control Two Hours This program is focused not only on helping people understand how critical the first minutes of an interview are but also on ways to improve their first impression.  Participants receive tips on ways to combat common concerns related to age, size, and lack of self-confidence.
Interview Skills Training Career Control Two Hours This is a practice session for interviewees.  Participants are videotaped and given feedback on how to come across more effectively in a variety of situations.
Games Recruiters Play (and how to defend yourself against them) Career Control Two Hours This session focuses on the tactics used by recruiters to throw candidates “off their game.”  Stress interviews, waiting tactics, harassment, silence, and diversity are all touched on as possible angles for consideration.
Building Stronger Teams through Action Learning Career Connection Two Hours Action learning exercises are used to demonstrate key points on communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The program is typically co-facilitated with Lorrie Rodriguez.
